TN TRB TNTET 2025: The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TN TRB) has released Notification No: 3/2025, dated 11.08.2025, inviting applications for the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) 2025, Paper-I (Classes I-V) and Paper-II (Classes VI-VIII). Eligible candidates can apply online from 11.08.2025 to 08.09.2025 via www.trb.tn.gov.in. The exams are scheduled for 01.11.2025 (Paper-I) and 02.11.2025 (Paper-II). Candidates must meet NCTE/RCI qualifications and verify eligibility before applying. TNTET certification qualifies candidates for teaching posts in Tamil Nadu schools but does not guarantee employment.
For teaching Classes VI-VIII (Upper Primary Level, Graduate Teacher: Related Subjects, English, Tamil, Other Languages)
TN TRB TNTET 2025 – Eligibility Criteria
TNTET Paper-I (Classes I-V)
Higher Secondary (+2 or equivalent) with 50% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 2-year D.Ed (Elementary Education) or 4-year B.El.Ed or 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education); or Higher Secondary (+2 or equivalent) with 45% marks and passed/appearing in 2-year D.Ed per NCTE Regulations 2002. Minimum age 18 years (as on 01.07.2025), no upper limit. D.Ed/B.Ed (Special Education) requires NCTE-recognized 6-month Elementary Education program post-appointment.
TNTET Paper-II (Classes VI-VIII)
Graduation and passed/appearing in final year of 2-year D.Ed (Elementary Education) or B.Ed; or Graduation with 50% marks and passed/appearing in final year of B.Ed or 4-year B.El.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed; or Graduation with 45% marks and passed/appearing in B.Ed per NCTE Regulations; or Graduation with 50% marks and passed/appearing in B.Ed (Special Education). Minimum age 18 years (as on 01.07.2025), no upper limit. B.Ed (Special Education) requires NCTE-recognized 6-month Elementary Education program post-appointment. Candidates pursuing NCTE/RCI-recognized teacher education courses (per NCTE Notification 23.08.2010) are eligible.
Note: Candidates must submit self-attested copies of educational certificates (Higher Secondary, Graduation, D.Ed/B.Ed/B.El.Ed, etc.), NCTE/RCI recognition proof (if applicable), community certificate (if applicable), and ID proof (e.g., Aadhaar, voter ID) during verification. Candidates appearing in final year of qualifying courses must provide proof of completion before certificate issuance.

TN TRB TNTET 2025 – Selection Process
TNTET Paper-I Exam: Objective-type exam for teaching Classes I-V, testing pedagogy, child development, and subject knowledge (Tamil, English, Mathematics, EVS).
TNTET Paper-II Exam: Objective-type exam for teaching Classes VI-VIII, testing pedagogy, child development, and subject knowledge (Tamil, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, or other languages).
Certificate Verification: Candidates who pass the exam will undergo verification of educational certificates, NCTE/RCI recognition proof, community certificate (if applicable), and ID proof for TET certification.

Download the notification PDF from www.trb.tn.gov.in to confirm eligibility: Higher Secondary/Graduation with D.Ed/B.Ed/B.El.Ed, minimum age 18 years (no upper limit) as on 01.07.2025.
Register on the TN TRB portal with a valid email ID and mobile number (active until results). Complete the online application form with accurate details (name, exam applied for: Paper-I/Paper-II, educational qualifications).
Upload scanned copies of required documents: educational certificates (Higher Secondary, Graduation, D.Ed/B.Ed/B.El.Ed), NCTE/RCI recognition proof (if applicable), community certificate (if applicable), ID proof (e.g., Aadhaar, voter ID), and recent passport-size photograph.
Pay the application fee (Rs. 600 for General, Rs. 300 for SCA/SC/ST/PWD) online via debit/credit card or net banking.
Submit the application by 08.09.2025. Edit applications, if needed, from 09.09.2025 to 11.09.2025. Download and retain the application confirmation.
