- Contribute to Ubuntu open source stack – kernel, bootloaders, firmware, drivers, desktop apps, containers
- Work on low-level system components (BIOS, firmware, kernel) to high-level applications
- Develop in Python, Rust, C/C++, Go, JavaScript, Bash & more
- Build & maintain packages, toolchains, compilers, security features
- Engage with open source community via code reviews & issue trackers
- Shape product roadmap at global sprints (twice yearly in-person)
- Focus on design, user experience, performance & documentation

- Outstanding academic track record (high school & university)
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science / Mathematics / STEM with programming courses
- Confidence in at least one: Python, Rust, C/C++, Go, JavaScript or Java
- Experience with Ubuntu or any Linux distribution
- Personal projects in technology beyond curriculum
- Excellent English (written & spoken), interpersonal skills & accountability
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year for sprints (up to 2 weeks)
